As well as the amazing hair piece, this photo gives you the gist of how many hair & makeup people are required to create these otherworldly looks. You wouldn't want to have claustrophobia as a model, believe me.
Last night we continued our Perth Fashion Festival backstage coverage by taking a peep at the preparations going on for the Jaime Lee show.
There were two beauty looks for this show, which we have divided up. Monsieur Ngata, hair director, and his team from L'Oreal, created the first look as a pumped up take on the previous night's slicked back pony. Glitter was added to the roots of the hair to add a sparkle of energy into the look and a fairytale-esque wave was curled into the length. As you can imagine, an absolutely perfect match for Jaime Lee's elegant and energetic vibe.
The makeup for this look, executed by MAC, was so intricate. The girls' faces were adorned with pearls and adhesive lace, echoing the detailing that Jaime Lee is known for in her pieces.

It's rare to see a male specimen on this blog, hey! We thought we'd just give you this sneak peak to remind you that there are, in fact, males in the world...
The second look was equally as sparkly and romantic. Hair-wise, the models were given a classic chignon slicked back with mousse and covered in cracked gold leaf, which is definitely not something to try at home by the looks of how tricky it is to apply.
The makeup look a la MAC was dramatic to say the least. Eyes and lips received equal attention, with eyes alternating between four rich colours (aquamarine, rich ochre, oriental red and dark plum) and lips, as well as fingernails (!), did not play a back seat at all.
Thanks to L'Oreal & MAC for allowing us to shimmy in between them as they work!
Tonight we will be covering backstage and the runway for WA Designer Collections, featuring our beloved Dyspnea, amongst others. If you're there, say hi! S will be all alone without T and probably on the express train to lonerville, unless she uses her unstoppable chatter to make some new friends ;)
xx S&T
I can't wait to see the Dyspnea collection! & that model in the second photo is stunning.
