Wearing The Pants

A great big hole was filled in today.  A big skinny-jean-sized hole that existed in Karrinyup shops & has now been filled with General Pants & Co!  It is General Pants' 3rd shop in WA and to that we say bring on more!

The lovely team at General Pants showed us around the new shop & we were delighted to discover that this may be the quality denim & basics hub that Karrinyup (our closest shopping centre) was missing.  T graduated towards the khaki, camo and leather-look side of the women's section, whilst S hovered around the denim, florals & even matching floral sets (!!).

Whilst the denim section was abundant & very tempting, the weather was not of the jeans-trying kind.
What a pity, we'll have to go back!

Funnily enough, despite our opposite directions shop-wise, we ended up with quite a similar collection of loot.  Loot shoot to come :)  Thanks to Jaharn & the team at General Pants for having us!

Aaaand what would an S&T outing be without icecream.  Gratuitous icecream shot below.

DIY Inspiration: London Edition

What with recovering from jetlag & reuniting with the family, lil blog has been a bit abandoned this past week.  So what better way to come back than a tiny bit of good old DIY inspiration from none other than Sass & Bide!

S&B

The above knits straight away reminded me of this one T painted last year for Restyle, except this time silver.  Once we've figured out a way to make it more opaque rather than just glittery, this is totes going to get done!  (Maybe after March when it cools down & we can even look at a knit.)

S&B2

Who feels like playing around with washing baskets (right) and something else definitely acquired from the hardware (left)? A trip to the get supplies is imminent...

This year we're hoping to have a good balance between a lot of uni, but also plenty of crafternoons (hoho, best word ever).  If anything blog worthy is produced, you know where you'll see it!

Delft

It is hard to believe, sitting in here in nearly 40 degrees, that P & I were in Vienna a couple of days ago... it's like a different planet!  The photos below were taken in Delft, a beautiful Dutch town that we visited at the start of the year, and which is staying quite close to the top of my favourite-town list.

Thank you PX (whose birthday it is today!) for the photos.

Tonight we are donning our Sunday best to attend the WA Fashion Awards, which is very exciting!  After that, it won't be long until T gets back home (woo!) & our life gets back to normal.

Red Hot

This post is a bit late colour-wise, considering V Day was last week, but my new red silk Mango blouse (exact same style as the Equipment classic) couldn't go without a mention. It is so light weight that it's going to get a work out in sun-smart outfits when I arrive home to the heat.

Taking hints from Eudon Choi's fall 13 collection (see here & here), red on red is obviously still ok with the fashionistas of the world.  Add some leather to de-red it a little bit.
PS: Get into my wardrobe, perfect sandals.

Equipment blouse here, See by Chloe sandals here, Giambattista Valli shorts here, Essie "fed up" here,  La Mer wrap watch here, Country Road hat here

Speaking of home, PX & I begin our journey from Vienna to Perth tonight, via a duty free bonanza (of course)!

Next post will be from Perth!  Until then...

More holiday loot...

Le Fanciulle (1 of 8).jpg

The girls went off for a weekend trip whilst I opted to stay in Phnom Penh and have some quality "me"-time.  Which ultimately ended in a lot of television, Swiss yoghurt, and shopping - plus a spot of sight-seeing to round off my last weekend in Cambodia!

Nobody is here to take my outfit photos, so here's a post full of shameless bathroom selfies.  And yes, somehow I've been adding to my Winter-wardrobe despite the perpetual 30-degree heat; I just couldn't pass up a perfect $30 denim jacket!

MNG denim jacket
Cheapie fedora from the chemist
MANGO mirrored aviators
The Face Shop nail polishes & gel eyeliner
Klorane shampoo (smells of peonies - mmmm!)

Crazily enough, today is my final day in Cambodia; how quickly seven weeks has gone by!  It's been such an experience living over here and doing medicine the Khmer way.  I'm off to Bangkok this afternoon so expect plenty more travel updates for the next week, as well as a round-up of our favourite food places in Phnom Penh (just in case you ever visit)!

Sunny Sihanoukville!

Le Fanciulle (6 of 33).jpg

The old King's funeral procession took over Phnom Penh last weekend, and an extra million people flocked to the city to pay their respects.  Fortunately for us, a 4-day public holiday was called and we escaped the throngs of people by heading to Sihanoukville - a sea-side escape from the clutter of Phnom Penh.  Quite the contrast to S's chilly travels!  We spent the majority of our time reading books on the beach and staring into the expanse of calm blue water, and even went on a small (successful!) fishing trip.  All in all, a perfect long weekend!

Lausanne

DSCF1309

It's almost time for this year's large dose of travelling to come to an end and goodness golly me, we're seriously ending on a high (not of the Amsterdam variety).  After leaving Glasgow & hospital life, PX & I journeyed via London to Switzerland.  This crazy cold country has been so beautiful, more than you could ever imagine, especially under a blanket of snow.

Instead of filling LeFancyPants with all our travel photos (trust me, there are a LOT), I plan to just do a few posts of my favourite places.  Click through to see some photos of our first day in Lausanne, a french-speaking city of Switzerland.

Montreux

DSCF1381
Montreux, Switzerland

The sun exists, people!  Crazy times!

This photo is just a little Sunday snippet of our travels, more of which will come tomorrow!  This time last week we were in sunny Montreux...and today we arrived in Austria (as you'd know if you InstaStalked me) welcomed by cars completely covered in snow.  The contrast is huge, but not anywhere near as huge as it will be going home.

Today in Austria : minus 2.
Today in Perth : positive 40.

Donna

I revived my black ankle-boot obsession last night after I saw these Acne Donna textured beauties.  As much as I like the Pistol boot and the Chloe Susanna (now in red!  Little heart, be still), I like the Western touch of the pointy toe; not to mention its slightly lower price point too.  Scandinavian-chic at its finest.

ACNE DONNA

Perhaps I'll come across them in Bangkok...?

Style Inspiration: Zebra

zebra-stripes
Image from Streetpeeper

Monochrome usually has classic connotations, but not when you chuck some zebras in the mix.  This photo from Street Peeper, combined with some Zara monochrome animal prints (here & here) have sent me print-mad.  For shy folk, a belt could fill the zebra-shaped void.  Not shy at all?  Michael Kors has you covered.

If animal print isn't your cup of tea, might I suggest you go the whole hog and don a full-on bear suit, like the guy we saw on the train today.  I suppose a whole body bear suit (hood & feet included) is one way to brave the Swiss cold.

Green Machine

UntitledNewest acquisitions

A huge celebration went off (in my head, with just me) when Pantone announced that the colour of the year was emerald green.  It's my favourite colour and has been freaking hard enough to come by in shops until now, so you can expect that my wardrobe will be all greened-out by the time 2014 rolls in.

Shopping in Cambodia isn't the best to be honest - there aren't the usual Asian mega-malls on every street corner, and the markets are akin to a rabbit-warren full of fake duds.  However, once in a while you stumble upon some sartorial gold green, like this carry-all from a sweet little shop in Phnom Penh.  Guaranteed to get a work-out this year as my new uni bag!

With my new stripped-back wardrobe, I find the best way to introduce trends and 'in' colours is to do it with accessories.  That way, I can spend more on good quality clothes in lasting cuts, instead of indulging in one-season looks.  Yup, last year's new years resolution is still going strong here; quality over quantity!

Untitled

My latest Cambodian loot:

Silk scarves from the markets
Tote bag from Esquisse
Sunglasses from VNC

xx T

P.S. Speaking of green awesome things, if you're a size 10 then there's these very cool lambskin-leather shorts on sale here!!  I'd buy them in a heartbeat if they were my size...
