Ça alors! Daniel Hechter Paris Reaches Perth

Are we in Paris?  Sadly no, but a little slice of Parisian life has come to us!

Oh little Perth.  Look at you, garnering attention from international mega-retailers Zara, Topshop, and now Daniel Hechter.  I think that us Perth folk are going to be quite the fashionable bunch in a short time, and now the Y-chromosome-endowed 50% of the population has a little bit more help in the wardrobe department thanks to the newest Parisian label in town.  (That's right - this post is for the fashion-minded men who stumble upon LF once in a while!)

Already stocked in 63 countries, the Daniel Hechter Paris brand freshly opened its first Australian store - in Perth nonetheless - along St George's Terrace this week.  Packed with lifestyle-suited garments (think Polo Ralph Lauren and similar sporting brands), the shop exudes its heritage Parisian flair, with nautical colours and the classic "basics with a twist" style that French fashion is renowned for.  Hechter's garments also include a lot of colour - as evidenced by managing director Loic Lemarchand's red chinos - and are incredibly functional and light-weight.  And we are pleased to report that the construction and quality is rather good too (shanked buttons on the stunning orange coat - inspected for you Claire Mueller and other quality-philes).

After popping into the store during the day & having a chat to Loic Lemarchand (direct from Paris... can you tell?), we attended the classy affair that was the store opening that evening.  Music was provided by Karin Page of China Doll & none other than Kav Temperley, lead singer of Eskimo Joe.

As well as delicious food served in the refined setting of Linton & Kay, there were stylish men & women of all ages.  One of the Fremantle Dockers even sang us a tune!  See below & if you can spot which one.  A few of the ladies looked so lovely, we couldn't help but take a few snaps.

Above with the stunning statement necklace: Rebecca Munro from Channel 10.
Wearing those Sass & Bide pants: Jordana from Perth Style.
In that amazingly draped berry-coloured dress: Hannah, a photographer & graphic designer with Keeper Creative.  (I have severe hair envy.)

S scoffing her second profiterole for the night, looking guilty as anything.

Can't fly to Paris?  Then pop into Daniel Hechter for your next French fix.  They focus on quality-made, affordable, classic designs and would look at home in the wardrobe of any cool cat.
