Outfit: The Castle

If you get lost around Dalkeith enough times, you might stumble upon the castle-like UWA Claremont Campus rising up across a green playing field, hidden by a bunch of trees.  Enchanting in the late afternoon light, I thought it would be the perfect location for my contribution to the Wish Style Challenge.

Another white dress?  Well, we didn't exactly plan it this way but by a twist of fate (and admin error) S's citrus-hued wishes turned white hot and now we can show you two white dresses from the Wish Summer collection!  Fitting for an evening soiree (or in my case, an engagement party right after this shoot was done), think of this dress as the LBD's little sister - Summer edition v2.0.

This post was also Simon's proper debut as photographer.  Thanks for taking the photos!!

Outfit: White Hot

Hey thanks weather, you're definitely listening to our pleas for a bit of sunshine... but next time how about a nice low 30s instead of a radical 30-bloomin-7!!  Luckily the people at Wish have me sorted with a white dress that requires nothing but ze undergarments.  And shoes.  Plus some simple shades that simultaneously block the glare and turn me into a female John Lennon.

This post is part of the Wish Style Challenge.  If you take a look at #wishstylechallenge on Instagram you'll see how other Australian bloggers wore their Wish summer gear!

Thank you PX for taking these photos and making me look much cooler than I really am ;)  This dress is definitely accompanying us to Koh Samui!

2WW: Cropped Out

Marc Jacobs did it (in 2010).  MMM did it.  Susie did it.  And a whole host of FELLT babes did it too (Sara, Margaret and Zanita).

Aaaand everyone had mixed reactions...  To this bra-over-normal-clothes thing.

Because really, it is rather ridiculous - wearing underwear as outerwear.  But here we are yet again, taking the piss out of ourselves by seeing if we could in some way be style-conquerers rather than fashion-victims/tragics with this very tricky (non) trend.  Of course, we would NEVER be seen in public with these outfits because frankly we think the fashion folk went a bit too far this time.  I often wonder what has been slipped into those soy chai lattes...  But much hilarity ensued in bringing you this unique 2WW, and we hope you enjoy our wacky Wednesday contribution to your blog reading.  Also, please appreciate the RUSSH-esque photos - we put a lot of work into trying to make it look "arty".

Let us begin.

Enter the humble Champion sports bra - the star of this post.

S's Outfit
The only way to explain this outfit is to admit that I was victim to T attacking me with items in her closet until I resembled a poor attempt at Man-Repeller-style layering.  With parts of this outfit sourced from my car & T's "to sell" bag, it's surprising that it is actually quite a cool combo if you try and shield your eyes from the crop top.

Op shopped shirt
T's khaki Witchery jacket
Faux fur vest
Nobody jeans

T's Outfit

This one is dedicated to the one and only Sinead.  Of course, I'm hoping she'll instantly see the Battlestar Galactica tribute in the form of excess camo-print and the racerback worn backwards in true asphyxiating style.  I actually quite like this outfit, if only it didn't include the back-tumour-tshirt-lump (not shown) and boob-crushing (shown).

Camo print tee from Bangkok - similar here
DIY twisted jersey skirt
Molten Store necklace

And of course, what outfit post of ours would it be without some good old goofing around.

2WW: A Wow Skirt

So...

Excuse our sorry lack of actual outfits for this 2WW, but we only just returned from the country last week to be chucked straight into emergency medicine!  So hopefully we will be able to find some time next week to continue photographing our outfit interpretations...
But for now, here's what we came up with when we challenged each other to style:

Michael Lo Sordo's mini ink print pencil skirt.

We promise we didn't peek at each other's collages!

But hilariously enough, we both seem to harbour a not-so-secret lust for that blooming Nars Schiap colour.  The truth comes out.

KJP3
T's outfit

Blogger-outing appropriate, and relishing all that pink!

Witchery leather sleeve tee, Brian Atwood sandals (seriously wanting to add these to my non-existent nude-shoe collection), Molten Store rings (DIY inspiration!), Valentino Rockstud clutch, Nars lip pencil in Biscayne Park, Nars nail colour in Schiap

2ww skirt

S' outfit

Winter-weather appropriate, but still mega-luxe at the same time!

Rag & Bone jumper, Saint Lauren scarf, Wang Marion, Burberry trench (my dream coat!), Nars Schiap (have been meaning to buy this for a while, but am waiting for an excuse), Valentino Rockstud flats

Both outfits very representative of each of our styles!  Would you wear either of them?

Style Challenge: Runners

Couldn't bring myself to study this morning since the weather was so glorious, so I went outside for a bit of jump-rope before buckling down again!  Yes, skipping - my favourite primary school activity outside of art class!

In honour of me actually making it into the sunshine and doing a scrap of exercise (you should all go buy a lotto now), here is this post - harking back to this style challenge from S before we started August.  Golly me, a long time ago!

If you don't recall the challenge (and haven't mustered the strength to click the link at the top, you lazy sod), then I will remind you that S asked me to style runners or Converse sneakers with a skirt.  And I wasn't allowed to look like a middle aged lady on her way to work.

Is this look sporty (but street-style-esque) enough for you, S?

I'm keen to break out my comfy sports shoes more in street wear, a la The Man Repeller & Style Scrapbook.  What do you think?  Could I get away with it?

Shaking Things Up

Alriiiiight folks.  We have decided that things have been getting a little ho-hum around here lately.  I suspect it has to do with getting into habits, being super busy with uni & also a severe lack of DIYs.

But do not fear- August is going to seriously remedy the lack of DIYs & those habits, we will kill them.

The first way I'd like to kill a habit is to set a challenge:
T, you  must wear (and photograph) a skirt with runners or cons.
(oh and please try not to look like a middle aged woman on her way to work)

I mean, if she (above) can do it, why can't YOU?

Re-Clash

This colour clashing business is getting out of hand, but since T did challenge me and then remind me so long ago to combine red & pink, I will kindly oblige (6 months later).

It's a bit freaky seeing these jumbo sized pictures of me on here... but I suppose that's what fashion blogging is about! Thanks little sis for the photos.

Hint hint...

Here's a little peek at what you'll find on Le Fanciulle tomorrow! I hope you're not too sick of bright colours yet... Summer just makes me go all out & ignore black's existence for a few months.

I've been reading about pastels being the new 'thing', but I don't think I'll ever get sick of brights really.

White on White Challenge

IO Donna november 2011 - photos by Thomas Straub

I've had it stuck in my mind for a long time now that I don't wear white.  Not sure why, but as a result there is a distinct lack of white in my closet.  This photo has made me rethink my aversion to white.  That silver collar is also pretty sweet...

So... do you think S could make white-on-white look as slick as this??
S, you've been OFFICIALLY CHALLENGED!

A reminder for S...

Yo S!

I issued a challenge to S a couple of weeks ago (here) yet she hasn't done it yet...  So I am issuing a reminder post that she needs to clash that red and pink together!
From what she says, she'll be doing it soon.  If I can do it S, you can :P

Red Pringle of Scotland cardigan, Cue top, YesStyle pink pants, Zensu pink shoes

Eagerly awaiting your combo, S :)
(Perhaps she'll wear it to today's IKEA outing?)

RED/PINK

Ok - so I was thinking that the challenge I issued to S in this post was a little easy...  So I decided to up the ante a little with this new challenge! (which I don't mind trying out myself to be honest!)

I recall a year or so ago that S was complaining about someone wearing pink and red, which, on the flip-side, is now the cool thing to do given the colour-blocking trend.  You can see where this is heading I bet ;)

my-wardrobe.com

Thus the challenge for S is:
WEAR SOMETHING RED WITH SOMETHING PINK

Some inspiration to get her going:
