Restyle: Batgirl

Yelling "ZE BAT!" is obligatory when wearing these shorts.

DIY Details
The halter-neck top was originally a Sportsgirl t-shirt in pristine condition.  We like to cut things up on this blog, so it was transformed in to a perfectly slouchy halter-neck.
Dubbed the 'bat shorts', these were originally a pair of horrendously butt-tastic leather pants.  (the 'before' photos are lurking around on our Instagram feed today - @lefanciulle)

Restyle: Geometric

T & I frequently look back to this post and Elizabeth & James lookbooks in general for their effortless style.  This Restyled outfit is definitely an ode to E&J.

DIY Details
The black bag with chain strap & studded leather shoulder detail was a fun DIY.  I removed the boring cord strap that came on the bag & added this length of double chain.  The piece of leather is borrowed from a pair of leather pants (also op shopped) and the studs from trusty Spotlight.  Inspired by Christian Louboutin bags (e.g. this) & will be seen more this month.

The skinny jeans (which I wore in the Restyle shoot) were lovingly trashed, copying the slashing-distribution from my Nobody jeans.  They started out identical to these jeans, can you believe?

Restyle: Magdalena Velevska

How are we going everyone?  It's day 8 of our 30 days of Restyle already!



This outfit is a bit "sporty-luxe", and a bit "I'm off to watch the polo".
(It probably just feels that way because I never wear sneakers with pencil skirts)

DIY Details
This sequinned pencil skirt was heavily inspired by Magdalena Velevska's MBFWA runway show.  All it required was a few metres of sequin trim, some fabric glue, and a steady hand!

Restyle: Life With Bird

With just one DIY, this outfit is one of our simplest for Restyle.  This long sleeved tshirt was easily altered with some iron on numbers, inspired by a Stylestalker tee I saw in a magazine.

Restyle: Purple & Dip-Bleached

Jeans and a button-down.
Sounds boring, but I think it is the go-to combination of both S and myself, this time made less ho-hum with a splash of colour and generous helpings of bleach!

DIY Details
These dip-bleached jeans have been doing the rounds on the blogosphere, and S & I thought it was high time we also joined the party.  Essentially, the instructions involve leaving the desired parts submerged in bleach for hours on end.
A very simple DIY!
There's a better picture of these Miu Miu-inspired pumps in another outfit post - really, if you can apply glue to small areas and not make a huge mess, this is also an easy DIY project.

Restyle: Acne skirt

This skirt was quite easy to pair with anything.  Such is the nature of denim & trashed denim even more so!  It will be definitely more wearable when Spring comes, though, and will look much better when those legs have seen a bit of sun.

DIY Details
The Acne-style trashed skirt began as a floor length atrocity & was lovingly hacked to death by my Ma.
I tried my hand at creating a chain-mail-look tank, inspired by this one from Zadig & Voltaire, but it didn't turn out as I had imagined.  Instead I have a customised sparkly knit singlet.
The bow-back shoes are inspired by Carven's sling backs that are so famous on ze internet.  The bow is a hand stitched removable silk "canoe-shaped" tube to get the bow shape.

Restyle: Embellished Sleeves

Have I ever told you that I'm a fan of Taylor Tomasi-Hill?
Well there you go, I have now.

DIY Details
The embellished sleeves on this denim shirt-dress was inspired by a teeny-tiny picture in an InStyle magazine of TTH (that's Taylor Tomasi-Hill for future reference).  Lee Oliviera has a picture of her here, which doesn't show off the sleeves as much, but you get the idea.
The black glitter pumps were done in a similar fashion to my two previous shoe+glitter DIYs (here & here).

Restyle: Jewel Tones

For our 3rd day of Restyle, here's another comfy Winter outfit made up of mostly op shopped items.

DIY Details
These black jeans were fine to begin with, but these pants on Margaret from Shine by Three inspired me to add some leather patches.  Originally I was going to use long pants & make some more similar to hers, but in the end I came across these 3/4 black jeans.  Simple fabric glue will hold it together.

Restyle: Rose Gold

Day two of our 30 Days of Restyle!  Hope you've bookmarked us in anticipation ;)



I like to think of this outfit as the most "Miroslava Duma"-like ensemble we have on show.  Probably because she has a bit of a penchant for baggy jumpers and short skirts.
Apologies for the grumpy face above - I was having fun, I swear!

DIY Details
I love metallic knits, and was convinced that making my own would be easy - thus I attempted to do this rose gold metallic jumper.  It's definitely a more subtle look than the stuff being sold in the shops at the moment, because the material tends to eat up all the paint.

Restyle: Starry Eyed

It's the first day of Restyle, and we have lots of posts in store for this month.  Think op shopping + DIYs + a billion photos.

These jeans are possibly my favourite item from our Restyle project.  Hence why there are so many photos in this post ;)

DIY Details
Op shopped Witchery jeans, revived with a few (haha ok, more than a few) hand-stencilled stars using silvery blue paint mixed with fabric medium, inspired by Current Elliot.  Maybe a starry jacket is next...

This spliced jacket began as a long-sleeved khaki jacket - quite wearable but boring - & had what I like to call a "sleeve transplant."  I cut off the khaki sleeves & sewed the sleeves from my denim vest (that you'll see in a future post) onto the khaki jacket.  Et voila, a sleeve transplant jacket.
