Getaway

Having a blog-holiday has been wonderful this past week - therefore, I am not sorry for the radio-silence at all.  Francesca put our current sentiments into choice words again, and I'll make it very clear that this little bloggy is going to carve out a new direction in the following months.  Peeling away from the contrived commercialism that is rampant in our community (yes, including the Perth blogger set...), S & I will be doing what we please (which is what this blog was started for in the first place anyway).  Not that we don't love you all, but we need some us-time now.

Anyway, S is still living it up in Koh Samui & I took a short break down south with my friends.  There were guns, sunsets, walks, & beaches involved - what more could you want?

Can't you just feel the freedom?

Six long years of medical school cumulated in one final exam yesterday (which I might have been late to...) and the freedom and relief is palpable!  S has just touched down in Koh Samui & I'll be heading down south for a short time this week, but before we burn all of our study notes just a quick thank you to you, our readers, for following us along in our medical school journey.

Even though this year has just dragged on, we've enjoyed coming home to little LF to take our minds off our studies.  Don't worry - we won't be closing down any time soon, but rather continuing on with our haphazard posting schedules to fit around our lives.  There'll be heaps of celebration & travel photos to come in the next two months anyway!

As one door closes another one opens - but not before a good long holiday.

T's Lunchtime Lust List: Friday

Ooops - guess who was too busy studying and forgot all about this post?  ME!  Being able to focus for over an hour is a rare occurrence, so forgive me for neglecting my lunch & lunchtime blog contribution.

The sun is shining out side, and I RSVP-ed yes to a pool party next week without any bathers to sport, so today's lust list is all about swimwear.  Unbeknownst to S, I'm also actually signed up to a scuba-diving course, hence the abundance of sports-inspired togs below.  Don't want to lose a bikini top when I'm attempting to exit the water like a Bond-girl.  Hahaha one can dream.

I'm foreseeing the use of a one-piece as a body-suit too.  Plus it means I can slack off ab-wise.
That's a win-win situation in my books!

In the moment: Round Frames

Combine a bunch of girls so cool they're beyond 'it' status with the enormous chain we all love to love, and you get some seriously good shots.  My take home message from this lookbook? If you want to update your "look", whatever that may be, for Summer, it seems round frames are the way to go.  Just prepare for the Lennon jokes, as I can personally attest to their abundance.

Hope you've been enjoying T's daily 'lust lists'... she is a terrible influence on us all ;)

T's Lunchtime Lust List: Thursday

Over it.
So very over study.

But so very into over-alls & pinafores if you've noticed our tumblr from a few days ago.  My favourite is the Uniform Studios pinafore (sadly no longer in leather) - a bit more subtle than the usual & a bit more versatile than the Friend of Mine Susie Blues.  Maurie & Eve do a similar style in white or leopard, and it's on sale!

T's Lunchtime Lust List: Wednesday

I've been scouting around online for a good Japan coat - my black Topshop one has served me well for the past 3 years so I think it's time to branch out colour-wise.  On discussion with S, I've decided I'll bring what I have with the potential to look for one there so I can try it on; the length and general over-sized shape that is trending this season might just make me look like a little lump of pudge!

Some personal considerations in my coat-hunt:
1. Shape - ovoid/oversized could very well just swamp my tiny frame.
2. Length - no further than the knees or it'll be midget-time
3. Colour - play the trend game (i.e. anything pink or plaid?) or play it travel-safe neutral?
4. Cost per wear - I wear coats in Perth Winter anyway so this might be alright...
5. Thickness - something that is really made for real Winters!

Like I said, I'm not going to buy until I try.  But for those who are in a similar predicament & can't hold off, here are my favourite 4 coats that won't deplete your overseas-spending-money, courtesy of Asos & Topshop.

T's Lunchtime Lust List: Tuesday

jh

Spotted some Jennifer Behr goodies on Nicole of Garry Pepper this morning, which set me on a lunch-time browsing spree!  Here are my favourites from her Pinterest.  Definitely something a bit different for the race that stops the nation, hey?

And if it's good enough for JLaw it's definitely good enough for us.

T's Lunchtime Lust List: Monday

Aaaand it's study week again.  Which means two things: no outfit posts this week because we can't be bothered changing out of our pyjamas, and secondly the exam-related "treat yo'self" mentality is alive and well.  The good thing is that I'm currently saving for Japan & medical registration just took a huge chunk out of my savings so there will be limited online-spending going on over here in my study cave.  That doesn't mean I can't still post about it during my lunchtime study breaks, coming to you Mon-Fri all this week.  Hide away those credit cards.

1. A Hat.

Why?
Sun-smart (not that I go out in the sun that much anyway) & head-warming for Japan.  Currently two main players in the Australian market - Bec & Bridge + Akubra ($$$) and Lack of Colour ($), both offering an array of delectable hues to choose from.

Outfit: The Castle

If you get lost around Dalkeith enough times, you might stumble upon the castle-like UWA Claremont Campus rising up across a green playing field, hidden by a bunch of trees.  Enchanting in the late afternoon light, I thought it would be the perfect location for my contribution to the Wish Style Challenge.

Another white dress?  Well, we didn't exactly plan it this way but by a twist of fate (and admin error) S's citrus-hued wishes turned white hot and now we can show you two white dresses from the Wish Summer collection!  Fitting for an evening soiree (or in my case, an engagement party right after this shoot was done), think of this dress as the LBD's little sister - Summer edition v2.0.

As S mentioned earlier, check out the #wishstylechallenge handle on Instagram to see how the other Aussie bloggers styled their Summer collection.

This post was also Simon's proper debut as photographer.  Thanks for taking the photos!!

The Light

There is a light at the end of this exam+uni tunnel and it comes in the form of a speedy Island trip, complete with relaxing, relaxing & more relaxing.  In true S style, what to pack has been on my mind for an unnecessarily long time and there's nothing like a lil packing collage to stunt the exam study :|

Screen Shot 2013-10-31 at 9.09.16 pm

I jumped on the Round frame band wagon yesterday & I aint getting off
Finding new bathers isn't fun - these would be a nice addition to my suitcase
Gave up my sandal search & bought these cute summer flats
Chuck a flippy skirt over your bathers & voila an outfit!
Lemon print!! I'm dying! Also love these in lemon print

By the way, it's November 1 today.  Pinch & a punch!
