Time Off

I had a half day today after a bit of a harrowing start to the week...  Being new to something has got to be the most tiring thing ever.  Luckily things are starting to de-shambles.  But on a more interesting topic, the afternoon off was full of tea-ing, craft-ing & eating the last of some brownies.  Time well spent?

In other news, this afternoon I went to the shops to buy white card for some crafting & came home with this tank in black (what can I say, it was pay day), but then developed a craving for some cornflower blue like this or this!!  It is so bad.  Nice colours & natural fibres get me every time.

Back into...

... street style by LF!
image
Uniqlo cardigan, Comme des Garcons pouch, Karen Walker sunglasses, Senso sandals

Finally got my ass back into action and took some street style photos on my day off last week.  The new game-plan is to trickle them out every couple of days instead of going insane with daily photos - it's just a bit too much to keep on top of, especially with full-time work!  But I did survive my first day without too much freaking out, which is always a good sign.  Back to the blogging action later this week when we settle into our new jobs - did I mention I'm back to having normal-person hours and no more overnight shifts?  This is one very happy chappy.

Parisienne

REd&black

pouch, ridiculously exxy dress, shoes, ring, ring, ring

Wow, brainwave of an outfit hey, but this is JUST what I love to wear right now.  Minus the Lanvin dress, of course, I'm still searching for the perfect day time LBD that only has two or three digits in the price tag.

These Repetto ballets are insanely comfy & dare I say, worth the hefty amount of moolah.  How they stand the test of time, I'm yet to find out.  The pouch?  Part of my polkaddiction.  The rings are by a new Perth jewellery designer Correy & Lyon and on my what-to-buy-when-feeling-cashed-up list.

And that's all!  Happy Monday.
We're at new jobs today & probably bumbling around like fools, so pray that we do okay and make good impressions!

Outfit: Plaid

lefanciulle (14 of 31).jpg

Flannel, the unofficial Aussie uniform.  Yes, it actually reminds me of this golden video as does the good old navy wife-beater (blue bonds singlet - don't freak out, non-Australians) - the sort of garb (& behaviour) that frequented my second ever job as a feeble extra set of hands at a giant hardware conglomerate.  Fish out of water perhaps?

Outfit: Winning Accessories

lefanciulle (24 of 31).jpg

Funnily enough this outfit is a variation on my recent colourless theme, and I've reused my style-saving accessories method.
Black + white outfit?  No worries mate.  Add nice shoes  (accidentally bought these ones recently whilst waiting for PX to have a haircut - haha oops!),  a chunky necklace,  some arm candy and an interesting bag.

Lists

Autumn list

A friend once told me that I'd be a rubbish doctor because I had good handwriting.  Well, to him I will honestly say that the nurses usually love my notes unless I've got three patients on the go and then my scrawl goes out the window.  But on disco-shift days like today (isn't that such a fun name?  I've stolen it from a doctor pal), when I'm sitting at home messing around on a Wacom tablet I gifted to myself, the above is pretty legible right?  Dare I say darn good looking.

And with no paint to clean up after!  Just command + z if I stuff up a line!

Ahhh technology.  Time for a nap.

P.S. did I tell you I've started drinking coffee now?  I guess I'm a real doctor!  Hooray!

Wedding: Decor Moodboard

Untitled

Okay I did promise to keep you updated re: wedding planning, but to be honest I haven't actually done very much other than doodle around on my tablet & come up with this inspiration jumble for my gorgeous stylist Jess from The Butcher, The Baker, The Stylist & Creator (who, by the way, is quite the awesome lady).

Pictures galore after the jump. (it's the plus sign to the right)

Do you remember back to last year when I was obsessed with this Uniform Studios pinafore?

Shimokitazawa

lefanciulle (52 of 77).jpg

Stretching out my Shimokitazawa photos (with a bit of street style included) because: 1. it was one of the trip highlights for me.  Think of the ultimate hipster neighbourhood with gorgeous little boutiques and plenty of people to watch.  And 2. I have too many photos to fit into one post, so to prevent the constant visual barrage I'll spread these out over the next week/month/however long it takes me to ever finish my Japan photos.

Enjoy!

Transition Pieces

lefanciulle (11 of 23).jpg

The other night it got cold enough to warrant wearing outerwear - a huge change in comparison to trying to skimp it as much as possible with no sleeves & loose-fitting clothing.  The chilly wind whipping my sad crusty mop of bleached hair instantly transported me into the day-dream land of coats, sweaters & scarves.  Just a little teaser of course, as the daytime temperature still sits at the high twenties, but soon - SOON - it will be cold!  In the interim, before it starts to rain, I'll be pairing these sandals with anything denim to make the most of them before my toes get wet & the calf-hair turns into a boggy mess.  Cost-per-wear people!

And don't get me started on how many ways I plan to wear this hat...

Eat Out: The Hardware Cafe

DSC_5225

Is that a new cafe in my hood?  More like a whole LOAD of cafes in my hood, which suits me and my caffeinated beverage habit.  Huzzah for the people of Scarborough.  Topping the list of hot-new-cafes has got to be The Hardware Cafe, which is located in an old - wait for it - hardware store!  Since it opened, this place has been almost as busy as Ikea on a Saturday and the parking similarly hellish, but our verdict?  Definitely worth the trip.

Fox Feet Summer Runway

lefanciulle (3 of 36).jpg

Ironically, this event was on the coldest night so far this year & also not in Summer.  But who cares, today is pretty much Summer again albeit the gazillion mile-per-hour winds.  Oh wait, we have that in February too.

Shall we go to the beach now?

(P.S. how do you like the new layout?  Not much has changed to be honest, but don't forget to check out the entire post by clicking on the "+" button below to your right!)

Outfit: Leather & Lime

lefanciulle (23 of 25).jpg

Okay, so it isn't strictly lime green, but I'm not sure what to call this colour.

This is what I wore to the latest blog gath and is a pretty good idea of the simplicity with which I've been dressing this Summer.  I suppose, all in all, nothing too fanceh but not too boring either.  Little discovery: don't wear a leather mini on an over-35 degree day.  Gross.

Outfit: Goodbye Summer

lefanciulle (22 of 23).jpg

Hooray - it's officially NOT Summer anymore.  Although, rest assured the 30+ degree weather will dig its sweaty claws into us for a little while longer.  So for those days when the sunshine still insists on burning everything out there, I'll be sporting this fedora from Lyla & Bo.  Quite the perfect transition piece into Winter as well, for a more polished temple-topper versus the beanie as our perennial favourite.  I bought it with the intention of bringing it to Tokyo with me, but alas, the tortoises at Australia Post struck again so that plan was ruined.  Oh well, at least I had some solid sun-protection to arrive back to!

Sonnet James Spring Lookbook

sonnet08
We don't often post lookbooks and things, but this one is just too good.  Taza is one of my biggest girl crushes for so many reasons & probably the blog I check the most (despite it being barely fashion-related), so a lookbook featuring her & her bebehs is golden.  Not to mention how wearable those clothes look.

Westfield AW'14 Showcase

lefanciulle (3 of 44).jpg

Oh heyyy there March!  I'm writing this at 12:24am & after baking a cake & editing a whole bunch of photos, I think I might just be out of the woods with regards to being on-call overnight.  Urgh work, way to ruin a perfectly good Friday!
But on-call schmon-call aside, on Thursday night a whole bunch of us blogging folk were spoilt rotten by Westfield & their gorgeous stylists Mikey & Ady.  Key trends of AW'14 were fleshed out, with Winter whites making a resurgence & ye good olde midi-skirt making a welcome replacement for the ever-prevalent Summertime butt-shorts.
Then they let us go wild making flat-lays with the new-season stock in celebration of the #FlatLayTheNation campaign - including a bunch of Westfield exclusives (see that floral Cue dress below?  It is gorgeous and I want it.).  Bloggers to flat-lays like fishies to water!  More photos after the jump.
