Introducing my first-ever haul of op-shop sundries - 2 glass vases from the Subi Good Sammy's and the cutest bone-china teacup set from the sweetest little Vinnies in Mt Claremont!

I'm hoping they'll be the start of a collection for my 21st birthday tea-party!  Yes, I am aware it's in 5 months, but I figured if I start planning early (as S said in her post here), it'll mean less stress right?

I'm definitely going to bring S to the Mt Claremont Vinnies next week sometime - I'm absolutely certain she'll love it!  (For my thrifty readers, I highly recommend this place to you as well!)

Wishing I was sipping tea right now...

Time for a Partay!!

T & I are both semi obsessed with planning and our 21st birthdays are no exception. Who gives a rat's caboose that they aren't for another 4-5 months?! You can be assured that we have already planned and re-planned our parties numerous times.

The following pictures are in from Hostess with the Mostess (party planning addicts- do not click this link unless you have many hours to spare!!) but you will have to wait til July/August to see how the inspiration converts to reality!!

Are you hungry now?

WDDW?

Instead of WWJD, today's topic of discussion is WDDW? What Do Doctors Wear?

T&I have been specially commissioned (read: casually suggested) to do a post on what to wear for uni now that we are in the hospital full time. T's registrar guiltily admitted to Googling 'what do doctors wear' before starting her placement. (So did I, shhhh!!)

Clinical clothing is not casual clothing OR office wear, but somewhere in the awkward middle ground, which is highly annoying. Soooo, to please our friends, we have polyvore-d it up and made some clin-spirational (sorry!!) collages for you all!

Little touches of girliness like the pussybow blouse and a flowery headband make sure no one mistakes us for boys ;)

This set is a little bit wishful, but maybe one day we'll be able to afford an LV laptop case!!  Perhaps this set should be called "What do Consultants Wear?"

+ a warm cardigan for hospital aircon!!

It's hot hot hot!

I wish it were cool enough to wear more than one cotton layer!!
Come ooooooon, winter!

It's the perfect example of why, with good basic items, you could have a million classy outfits.

Finally picked up my new pair of glasses (ones that S and Simon helped me choose) - they're much 'heavier' in terms of style than my previous frames, so I'm still trying to get used to seeing my own reflection...

My trusty pair since year 12!
They have been with me everywhere and are scratched and chipped beyond repair.

They're also a lot stronger than my old glasses (which is what happens when you put off getting new glasses for 4 years...)

But I've got to say, after a bit of buyer's remorse, they're growing on me!

What do you think?

PS: This is S (hijacking T's respectable post). Let me just say, I HATE 6/6 vision!! I have serious glasses envy and, when money allows, plan to purchase some frames with normal glass just to pretend I need glasses.
Some of my favourite types:
Left- cat eye   Middle- square frames   Right- intelligent-looking spectaclesglasses

Rise and Fall: John Galliano

Dear oh dear.  Mr Galliano, what have you gotten yourself into?

IMG_0419

Getting fired from Dior after such a fantastic couture show is definitely not the way to go.  Which should be a reminder for the rest of us mere mortals that being famous isn't always the best thing - especially when Dutch-courage turns into fuel for anti-Semitic ranting.
What a shame, but I guess that's the price for rowdy behaviour and indirectly offending Natalie Portman (who is Jewish, and also incidentally the face of Dior).
Read the Washington Post article here.

Anyway, we can't deny that he is a very talented man.  Case and point, his recent Spring Couture show:

I just hope he continues his beautiful work :(

All the other kids with the pumped up kicks...

DSC_0654

I finally bit the bullet last week and bought a pair of Jeffrey Campbell Mariel wedges that I have had my eyes on for a good few months now...  So I might be a bit late to the JC-phenomenon that swept across the blogger-sphere last year, but better late than never, no?

Anyway, these are possible the most comfortable heels I've ever worn!  (By 'worn', that means manically clomping around in them whilst I was home-alone this morning, almost resulting in me being late to pick up S.)

Mr Campbell, you are too cool!
