Morning Tea with Times Square Claremont

Combine sweet treats with anything, and you have the recipe (pardon the pun) for a successful morning.  Even better if the 'anything' is fashion of the finest kind.  Times Square Claremont did just that this morning at a lovely morning tea they hosted for a group of pretty girls bloggers, during which we waltzed around the shopping strip causing mental credit card damage & trying to restrain ourselves.

We began in SIMA Art Gallery with treats from Littlesweet baking.

After some chatting, a dose of caffeine & a lot of sugar, we headed out to take a look at the shops that Times Square has to offer.  It was strange that even I, a Perth resident for nearly 23 years and Claremont-frequenter-extraordinaire, hadn't noticed some of the stores before.  Get out from under that rock, S!

Lost Souls (above) is such a dangerous shop full of goodies that stocks local labels like Tindale & Wild Horses.  It also houses what remains of Recollections, a consignment store that my Mum & I loved, but has sadly shut down!
Some financial damage was done at this shop, but you won't be able to see it for a while ;)

Sana - home to a lot of quality designers like Bec & Bridge, Equipment & Anna Excell.  Definitely the place to go if you deserve a treat / need something for an occasion / need to stock up on fluffy jumpers.

Lastly, what would a trip to Times Square Claremont be without popping into the the King & Queen of glamour?  That is, Alvin Fernandez of Ae'lkemi (who was actually there and is so lovely & welcoming!) & Ruth Tarvydas.  (top 2 photos & bottom 2 photos respectively)

All in all, a great morning!  Sadly T was busy at uni & couldn't come, but her camera kept me company ;)

Decorate & DIY: Hanging Terracotta Pots

Le Fanciulle (2 of 11).jpg

I can't say that my room is particularly small, but with all the additional bits of furniture I've acquired it is increasingly difficult to find places for bits and bobs (without being a *little* bit untidy and enraging my mother dearest).  Which is why I've recently taken to optimising my wall-space to clear up some room!  Plus, hanging clothing on walls is an easy way to decorate your room and save on artwork, whilst being able to change it up as much as you like.  You see that Ellery dress in the first picture?  Scored it for a bargain, so it's going to have prime-position on my wall for some time so I can revel in my success.

Here's a DIY that goes along with this hanging-stuff business; all made with cheap materials too!  Save yourself some desk-space for more important things, like DIY-ing.

DIY: HANGING TERRACOTTA POTS

Rustle up the ingredients: little terracotta pots (or you could use mason jars, etc.), ribbon or twine, and some wall hooks (stick-on or screw-in - your choice).

Tie securely so you don't end up with a hot cracked mess.
Hang up and fill with things!  The hole at the bottom of the terracotta pots is conveniently-sized for the iPhone 5 charging cable as well.

2WW: White Shirt Day

In honour of White Shirt Day, today's 2 Way Wednesday features, well, white shirts.

I'd love to write a long adjective-ful paragraph about how we look quite fabuloso in these outfits without overtly saying we look fabuloso, but tiredness has zapped all creativity from my brain, so just scroll below & judge for yourself.  We may not even look fabuloso at all.

T (right) with her asymmetrically buttoned white silk shirt.

Please note we got a little carried away in the flowers, hence the crazy flowery portraits.
