Event: Betts for Her Launch

The new Betts for Her flagship store in Hay Street Mall (Perth) is a step in a new direction for the Betts company that, can you believe, has existed over 100 years.  There is something intangibly likeable, friendly even, about a family company steeped in history that sells fashionable shoes at accessible prices. That is what Betts has always done & continue to do this Summer, with their takes on all the new trends like pool slides, the two-strap sandals, et cetera, et cetera.

Who better than Angeline from LoveThread to host a night of feminine fun, pink lemonade included, and showcase some Betts footwear with Hello Parry looks.

Thank you Betts for a wonderful evening.

Take a trip to Betts for Her on Hay Street to see an awesome shop kit-out (branding by Mekel!), and perhaps picking up some new Summer sandals.  After all, there's no such thing as too many shoes...

Musings: Welcome Summer

We're approximately 8 hours into Summer & it seems we're starting on a high!  Sleep was a good way to welcome the new season, followed by an early morning at the beach, then some coffee from my favourite joint that complimented my mother-made granola nicely.  To keep things rolling, I'm going to make some aims for the season.  They're pretty simple, but I find the best way to achieve your aims is make them achievable, haha! that makes no sense.

Aims for the season
1. Live as outdoors as possible
2. Eat fresh, healthy & unpackaged
3. Read a novel (at least one!)
4. Stress less. Relax.

Outfit: Supermarket-chic

The other day we went to the Beaufort Street Festival and swore we wouldn't need much cash because we "weren't going to buy anything".  Ha!  As if.  There was so much food on offer that we used up our measly kitty on icy poles and had to venture into IGA to get more cash out (for more food, inevitably).  Long story short, that is why there are supermarket-chic outfit photos.

Side Project Zine

What's your side project?  Most people have one, some people have many.

Our lovely friend Sab, along with two other ladies, has launched a a quarterly zine for everyone who loves a good side project: about "making things, living a creative life and fitting it in around all that other stuff."

We attended a fun launch party the other day, got a sneak peak of Side Project & of course, ordered our copies.

Event: UMBRA @ Polytechnic West

To describe Polytechnic West's graduation show UMBRA as impressive would be a criminal injustice.  Both of us sat on the edge of our seat, jaws literally dropping, at some of the pieces that came walking down the runway.  Do yourself a favour and pore through these photos slowly, then head to our Flickr to see more detailed photos if you wish.  Try to appreciate that every single creation was thought up, designed, cut & sewn by the Polytechnic West graduates.
